I have the honour to transmit an application

for employment in the Colonial Service, which I have received from

Mr. C. G. Alabaster.

On the assumption by lar. Rees Davies of the

appointment of Chief Justice at the end of April I had no hesita-

-tion in asking Mr. Alabaster to act as Attorney-General. He is a

rapid and careful worker and during nine months of last year he

carried out the heavy duties of Attorney-General to the entire

which was addressed to him last January.
